Comment-to-DM, and why one word beats a link

The mechanic is small enough to describe in a sentence. You post something useful, you ask people to comment one specific word to get more, and everyone who does receives a direct message automatically. That is it, and it is worth understanding why something so simple works so much better than the alternative.

The psychology, which is the actual product

  1. The ask is nearly free. Typing one word costs a person almost nothing, so almost nobody declines on effort grounds. Compare that with tap the link, wait for a page, read it, decide - four decisions where there was one.
  2. Doing it is a commitment. Small, public, and it changes how the person relates to what comes next. Someone who has acted is measurably more likely to keep acting, and the comment is the smallest possible version of acting.
  3. It is public, so it compounds. Every comment is a signal to the platform that the post is worth showing to more people, which means the mechanic feeds the distribution that feeds the mechanic.
  4. The reward is immediate. Seconds, not an email that arrives whenever. Immediacy is doing more work in this than any of the copy.

Point three is the one people miss, and it is the reason this is not simply a nicer way to hand out a link. A link takes people off the platform, which the platform notices. A comment keeps them on it, which the platform rewards with reach. The mechanic aligns your interest with the algorithm's instead of fighting it.

What you send matters more than the automation

The mechanic gets you a delivered message to someone who raised their hand. Everything after that is down to whether the thing you send was worth asking for.

Send something genuinely useful and the next message in that thread is welcome. Send a thin lead magnet with a sales pitch stapled to it and you have spent a real moment of interest to teach someone not to trust you. The tool cannot tell the difference, which is why the tool is the easy half.

The question that turns delivery into conversation

After the promised thing lands, one open question about their own situation. Not "any questions?", which invites nothing, but something specific enough that answering it requires them to describe where they actually are.

That single question is the whole hinge. Without it you have run a delivery service; with it you have started the conversation the rest of the method depends on.

What a working loop looks like from the outside

A post with an unusual number of one-word comments, all the same word, from accounts that look like real people. That is the visible half.

The invisible half is a set of conversations happening in parallel, each one started by someone who asked, each one arriving at the same offer from a different direction. Anyone who has watched a launch closely has seen the first half and assumed the post simply did well. It did not do well by accident; it was built to produce exactly that comment thread.

Why this is the core of the training rather than a tactic in it

Because it is the piece that connects content to income, and most people who make content never build that connection. The free workshop on one-word replies covers the mechanic in full, and the comment loop breakdown walks the version taught inside the programme.
